Girl Power!
Nov. 14th, 2007 08:44 amOk, I really was never much into girl power or female bonding, but in recent years I have discovered that it's actually pretty neat and last night was no different.
Last night I went to April's first solo bellydance performance ever and she was so awesome and beautiful! Our whole Saturday class showed up to cheer her on and there she was glowing in the club lights, her gorgeous red veil blowing in the air conditioning, pregnant belly proudly displayed... just wonderful. I was truly inspired!
Later, Kendra performed (which I didn't know she was going to ahead of time so that made for a late night! ouch - I'm so tired right now!) and as usual she was on fire. She really has an incredible stage presence. She sucked us all in and made us squirm even while blindfolded! Incredible! I can't believe she is our teacher! :)
I wish I had time/funds for more classes...

Nov. 12th, 2007 08:52 amMy Adderstone troupemate, April, will be performing at Neighbor's tomorrow night. Performances begin at 10pm and I guess it is fairly random so I'm not sure when she'll be on. I'll be there to cheer her on!
I've heard great things about bellydance fusion group Unmata from my instructor Kendra from Hands of Kali. They will be in Seattle for a performance on Friday at 8:30pm. I'll be there too! See details below:

Jul. 8th, 2007 04:54 pmI finally got my panel skirt done... it looks like a novice made it and well a novice did! it will be viewed from far away so hopefully that will help and I also got a shawl that will be layered over the top of it. I will have about 4 layers of stuff on the bottom half of me. The top I am still struggling with... the bra is a big pain in the ass and I'm trying to decide if it is showing too much breast or if I can deal with it. I have a plan just in case I can't get over it. The coins are really noisy too and I think I need some sort of balance on the bottom half since the top half is so much metal.
So just a little bit of hand sewing left on the bra whichlatromortis has agreed to do for me. THANKs! After that it's just hair and makeup and I'll be set!
